Karolina Williams, LICSW
MSW, M.Div
I have been working in Mental Health for the last 14 years. I received my Master of Social Work from the University of Texas and a Master of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 2009. Since then, I have worked in community mental health among diverse populations and in private practice.
My approach:
I believe in the strength, wisdom and resiliency of every individual. My philosophy and training equip me to listen and reflect in a way that holds space in order to work together to find solutions.
My theoretical approach is eclectic. Therefore, each session can look somewhat different given the uniqueness of each person. I predominantly use a behavioral approach in dealing with trauma (CPT) and help individuals change their thoughts that are negatively impacting their behavior and emotions.
Through my experience in working as a therapist, I have become attentive to the ways in which our bodies hold our stories. Often times we are disconnected, therefore, developing the ability to listen to our bodies is central to healing. These optional tools include: painting, drawing, writing, poetry, music and movement.
